Wisconsin linebacker T.J. Watt has two very helpful mentors: his NFL-employed older brothers J.J. and Darek.
In a teaser for Tuesday’s episode of “The Journey,” T.J. explains how both brothers have helped him on and off the field.
“Having Derek and J.J. to lean on in any aspect of life is huge,” T.J. Watt said. “And to have them in the football world specifically is huge for me.”

T.J. Watt is a junior linebacker who is tied for the Big Ten lead with 5.5 sacks and ranks fourth in the conference with 7.5 tackles for loss this season.
J.J., a three-time NFL Defensive Player of the Year, played at Wisconsin in 2009 and 2010 before becoming a first-round pick of the Houston Texans. Derek Watt, a fullback, spent four seasons in Madison clearing room for star running backs like Melvin Gordon, and was drafted in the sixth round by the San Diego Chargers this past April.
T.J. Watt is expected to become the third Watt brother to reach the NFL. According to The MMQB, two talent-evaluators said T.J. would have a second-round grade if he entered the draft this year.
“The Journey”episode featuring T.J. Watt will air Tuesday Oct. 18 at 9 p.m. ET.
