Wisconsin football to help deliver donations to Louisiana flood victims
The Wisconsin football program is helping to send donated items to flood-ravaged Louisiana.
As the athletic website shared in a release on Thursday, Wisconsin is assisting in the transport of donations from 100 Black Men of Madison and ASPIRE Beverage Company.
According to the release, 100 Black Men of Madison is donating backpacks and school supplies for grade school children. ASPIRE is donating 2,000 bottles of drinks. The Wisconsin equipment staff will load the donated items and drive them to Green Bay, Wis. From there, the items will be given to LSU’s staff, according to the release:
The Wisconsin equipment staff will then coordinate with their counterparts from LSU to load the supplies onto the Tigers’ truck. When it returns to Baton Rouge, the backpacks, school supplies and drinks will be delivered to the 100 Black Men of Metro Baton Rouge for distribution to families in need.
Wisconsin and No. 5 LSU are scheduled to play at 3:30 p.m. Saturday at Lambeau Field.
