Badgers on HOF ballot
Wisconsin could be adding to its contingent at the College Football Hall of Fame. The ballot for this year’s nominees was released Monday, and former Badgers Troy Vincent and Joe Thomas made the cut.

Graham Mertz chosen for The Opening Finals
Graham Mertz is continuing to show everyone the type of player Wisconsin is getting. It was announced Monday that Mertz finished among the top-12 quarterbacks at the Elite 11 finals, meaning he gets an invite to take part in The Opening Finals later in June.
Meanwhile, he told reporters at the Elite 11 event that he’d like to shut his recruitment down before the season starts. Multiple schools are coming hard after the Kansas product, including Notre Dame, Ohio State and Texas A&M.
Wisconsin vs Alabama in the playoff?
USA Today’s Paul Myerberg predicted some of the biggest bowl matchups for the upcoming season and has Wisconsin playing Alabama in one of the College Football Playoff semifinals.
No favorite for Lance Dixon
Talented linebacker Lance Dixon cut his list of schools last week, but the 4-star recruit doesn’t have a favorite among the five Big Ten teams he listed, which includes Wisconsin. MLive.com’s Matt Wenzel caught up with Dixon to see where the Michigan product was in his recruitment.
Big Ten going back to 8 games?
Last month, Nebraska athletic director Bill Moos suggested the Big Ten was contemplating going back to an 8-game conference schedule after being at nine for the last two seasons. Iowa athletic director Gary Barta contradicted that, telling Land of 10 it’s not something they’ve discussed.
Playing Nebraska on Black Friday
Land of 10 did a poll to see which team Nebraska fans would most like to play on Black Friday each year. And while Iowa topped the poll, there was a healthy number of people that wanted the Huskers to face Wisconsin.
We’re No. 1!
Wisconsin didn’t win the Big Ten title on the field last year, but the fan base was No. 1 in another area — arrests and ejections at Camp Randall Stadium. That comes from ElevenWarriors.com, which took its annual look at what happened in the stands at the various conference venues.
