After Wisconsin football coach Paul Chryst led the Badgers to an overall record of 13-1 in the 2017 season, the program has decided to extend his contract through the 2023.
Wisconsin made the announcement on Friday after the University of Wisconsin Athletic Board met in the afternoon and approved Chryst’s contract extension, which will last through Jan. 31, 2023.

Chryst was hired as Wisconsin’s coach in December 2014, and has since found plenty of success with the Badgers. In his three seasons in Madison, the Badgers have gone 34-7, including 22-4 in Big Ten play.
Chryst has also led Wisconsin to back-to-back Big Ten Championship Games. While the Badgers lost to Penn State in 2016 and Ohio State in 2017 in the conference championship game, they have gone 3-0 in bowl games under Chryst. This includes the 2017 Orange Bowl where the Badgers defeated Miami 34-24.
