Wisconsin received arguably the best draw possible for its opening round game of the 2016 Maui Jim Maui Invitational, other than playing host school Chaminade.
The Badgers will tip off the tournament against SEC bottom-feeder, Tennessee, in the first game of the tournament on Nov. 21 at 2:30 p.m. ET.
Tennessee struggled during coach Rick Barnes’ first season at the helm. The Volunteers went 15-19, finishing 12th in the SEC. Tennessee was particularly horrid outside of Knoxville, Tenn., going a combined 3-15 in games played away from home.
Depending on the results, Wisconsin will play either Oregon or Georgetown in either the championship semifinal or consolation semifinal. North Carolina, UConn, Oklahoma State and Chaminade occupy the bottom of the bracket.
This will be Wisconsin’s third appearance in one of college basketball’s best early season tournaments. The Badgers are 3-3 overall in their prior two appearances.
