Vosters spent the past eight seasons with the Badgers basketball team, starting as a student manager for four years before serving as a program assistant for the 2013-14 campaign. In her new role, she’ll aim to improve the department’s recruiting efforts across 23 sports.
“It’s imperative that we identify and attract talented student-athletes, capable of success in the classroom, competition and in life,” deputy athletic director Chris McIntosh said in the release. “We are thrilled to have Kat as our Director of Student-Athlete Recruitment. Her experience, work ethic and drive are a valuable asset for Wisconsin Athletics and will create tremendous value for all of our sport programs.”
Despite her new position, Vosters will travel with the team on its foreign tour this summer to help transition the new director of basketball operations. From Aug. 12-24, the Badgers will play exhibition games in New Zealand and Australia.
“I am thrilled about this new opportunity to serve the department in a different, broader capacity,” Vosters said in the release. “It’s a bittersweet decision to leave Coach Gard and the men’s basketball program and I’m eternally grateful for the opportunities I’ve had with the team.”
