The Wisconsin Badgers just won the Cotton Bowl classic over Western Michigan, and, in the process, Wisconsin also stole the Broncos’ catch phrase for good measure.
After No. 8 Wisconsin ran out the clock for a 24-16 win over No. 15 Western Michigan, the University of Wisconsin-Madison Twitter page sent out a tweet of the Badgers mascot, Bucky, rowing a boat captioned “Boat = Rowed. #OnWisconsin.”

“Row The Boat” was Western Michigan’s catch phrase throughout the entire 2016 season. The phrase itself was made nationally notorious by coach P.J. Fleck, who led the Broncos to an undefeated record and a berth in the 2017 Cotton Bowl. However, the Western Michigan magic ran out when it was matched up against a stingy Wisconsin defense, which staved off the Broncos quarterback-wide receiver combination of Zach Terrell and Corey Davis.
The Wisconsin Badgers football Twitter account, however, took a more respectful route following the Cotton Bowl victory.

The Badgers’ win over Western Michigan gives Wisconsin its fourth win over a ranked team this season.
