Herro is rated as the No. 36 recruit in the Class of 2018 on the 247Sports Composite, which has him as the No. 4 player at his position and the No. 2 player in Wisconsin. The Milwaukee prospect from Whitnall High School committed to the Badgers in September of 2016.
Herro took an official visit to Wisconsin on the weekend of Sept. 29.

Herro was a big get for the Badgers, who are now left with 3-star Joe Hedstrom as the sole recruit in their 2018 class. Hedstrom is coming to Wisconsin on a “4 for 5” deal. He’ll be a walk-on next season and will then be on scholarship for the next four years.
Greg Gard and the Badgers coaches will now have to search for another cornerstone to anchor their 2018 class.
“The state of Wisconsin has always treated me with tremendous support,” Herro wrote, “and I will always call Wisconsin my home.”
