Wisconsin’s leading tackler from a year ago might not be able to take the field with the Badgers when they open the season against LSU at Lambeau Field.
Linebacker T.J. Edwards is currently dealing with a foot injury that could force him to miss Wisconsin’s opener against the Tigers, according to the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel’s Jeff Potrykus.
Edwards led the Badgers with 84 total tackles and was fourth on the team with 6.5 tackles for loss during an outstanding redshirt freshman campaign.
Edwards’ potential absence would make life a lot harder for the Badgers. They will already have to replace quarterback Joel Stave and leading receiver Alex Erickson, as well as talented linebacker Joe Schobert.
Wisconsin still has Vince Biegel and Jack Cichy patrolling the front seven, but the defense would suffer a major blow without Edwards. The details of Edwards’ injury are currently unknown.
