Paul Chryst will be making more money in 2017.
According to a report from the Wisconsin State Journal, Chryst will make $3.2 million in 2017, a figure $500,000 larger than his 2016 salary. Chryst’s salary will also increase by $100,000 each year through 2021, the last year of his deal.
Offensive coordinator Joe Rudolph is reportedly also getting a pay bump. Rudolph will be paid $650,000 according to the State Journal, an increase of $80,000 from his 2016 pay.
A salary of $3.2 million would have been tied for the 32nd-highest in the nation in 2016, according to figures from USA Today. Chryst’s $2.7 million salary in 2016 made him the 43rd-highest paid coach in the country, and his salary was the eighth-best in the Big Ten.
Chryst is 21-6 in his time at Wisconsin and led the Badgers to a Cotton Bowl victory last season.
