Wisconsin went on the road with a redshirt freshman quarterback making his first career start at a top-10 Michigan State team Saturday.
The Badgers rolled to a 30-6 rout, Wisconsin’s second big win in September following the season-opening 16-14 win against LSU.
Here’s what the win did for Wisconsin in the new polls, released Sunday:
Previous rankings (Coaches/AP): No. 10/No. 11
New rankings (Coaches/AP): No. 8/No. 8
What it means: Wisconsin is now safely in the Top 10 of both major polls thanks to the blowout win over the Spartans. But the Badgers may not be done making jumps in the polls: Wisconsin travels to top-5 Michigan this coming Saturday. A win there would cement Wisconsin’s place in the College Football Playoff race. But no matter what, the polls have gained even more respect for the Badgers after another impressive September win.
