Nigel Hayes is back in the G League after his 10-day contract with the Los Angeles Lakers expired. But the former Wisconsin star is still making big plays.
Hayes sank an off-balanced buzzer-beater to lift the Westchester Knicks to a 101-99 win over Raptors 905 in a Wednesday afternoon NBA G League game. Hayes scooped up an offensive rebound with two seconds left and knocked in a deep 2-point jumper from the corner for the victory.

Hayes was signed by the Lakers earlier in the month. The 6-foot-8 forward appeared in 2 games for Los Angeles, and he scored 3 points against the Raptors on Sunday.
Hayes had 19 points in 37 minutes for the Knicks affiliate on Wednesday. A former Wisconsin star who helped the Badgers reach back-to-back Final Fours, Hayes entered the game averaging 14.9 points and 6.6 rebounds in the G League this season as he waits for another NBA opportunity.
