Lane Kiffin and the Florida Atlantic football program spent most of the last week in Madison, Wis., including four days after their game against Wisconsin last Saturday. The Badgers hosted the team, which was displaced as Hurricane Irma tore through Florida earlier this week, until the Owls could return home.
Florida Atlantic players already had expressed their gratitude for Wisconsin’s hospitality. Kiffin took it a step further Friday, taking out a full-page ad in the Wisconsin State Journal to thank the University of Wisconsin.
Here’s Kiffin’s full message:
“Thank You! You have opened your hearts to our football program for the past six days in our time of need. Every single person on campus and in the community was kind and courteous. The Badger Football Team even shared their home with us and made our stay as comfortable as possible. We are forever indebted to the Wisconsin Athletic Department, Athletic Director Barry Alvarez and Head Coach Paul Chryst for their collective generosity. We wish you nothing but the best of luck with the rest of your football season. ON WISCONSIN!”

Happy to host during Hurricane IrmaGood luck to Lane Kiffin and FAU Football the rest of the way this season
It’s safe to say the Badgers and Owls have formed a special bond. Perhaps Wisconsin can pay a visit to the Boca Raton-based school the next time the team plays in a Florida bowl game.
