Wisconsin scored a big win up front Saturday night, landing the commitment of offensive tackle recruit Joe Tippmann.
Tippmann is ranked as a 4-star recruit by the 247Sports composite rankings and is considered the No. 35 offensive tackle recruit in the nation for the Class of 2019 and the No. 5 overall recruit in the state of Indiana.

The Fort Wayne, Ind., native had Wisconsin, Iowa and Indiana as his three finalists and chose the Badgers after picking up an offer last month. He’s 6-foot-6 and 283 pounds, so he could still have some filling out to do.
Tippmann is the fifth commit of the Badgers’ Class of 2019 and is the second offensive lineman, joining fellow 4-star commit Logan Brown. With 4-star quarterback Graham Mertz also in the fold, it looks like the Badgers are already building up some talent on offense with this class.
