It’s looking like Jim Leonhard will be staying at Wisconsin, for now.
After reports indicated that Florida State head coach Willie Taggart was courting Leonhard for the defensive coordinator job in Tallahassee, Leonhard told the media Thursday morning he is “very happy” at Wisconsin, per Zach Heilprin of Wisconsin Sports Zone.

Leonhard also didn’t deny that he had talks with “some teams,” but he made very clear he loves coaching at Wisconsin.
“Wisconsin is home. I love the university. I truly believe everything on and off the field. I feel like we do it the right way. We’re not the only team doing it the right way, but we’re one of them. To me, the recruiting side of it, just everything outside coaching, I know I want to be in a place where you truly believe in the product, truly believe in the university. It’s one of those situations where I know I have that right now. It’s kind of a nice place to be.”

Leonhard is coming off a fantastic first season as Wisconsin’s defensive coordinator, leading a defense that finished first in the nation in total defense and being named a finalist for the Broyles Award for the nation’s top assistant coach. As long as his defenses continue to perform like that, Leonhard will see his fair share of suitors, but it’s likely going to require something big, like a head coaching job or an NFL coordinator position, to get him to leave the Badgers.
