Former Wisconsin running back Melvin Gordon was named AFC Offensive Player of the Week on Wednesday after putting up a career-high 196 yards rushing, plus 65 yards receiving Sunday in the San Diego Chargers’ win over the Tennessee Titans. Gordon carried 32 times and scored his ninth touchdown of the season in his team’s 43-35 victory.

Gordon played at Wisconsin from 2011-14, rushing for 4,915 yards, including 2,587 during his record-breaking senior year. He was drafted 15th overall by the Chargers in the 2015 NFL Draft.
After a disappointing rookie season, Gordon has rushed for 768 yards in nine games this season. He is tied for the NFL lead in touchdowns and ranks third in rushing yardage.
