Boyd Dietzen isn’t leaving his home state of Wisconsin.
Dietzen (Kimberly High School) announced on Monday that he’s committed to the Badgers. The 6-foot-3, 235-pound defensive end is ranked by 247 Sports composite as the No. 1 2018 recruit in the state. He’s also No. 19 nationally as a strong-side defensive end.
“Proud and beyond excited to announce that I have committed to the University of Wisconsin to further my academic and athletic career,” Dietzen wrote on Twitter.

Dietzen is the Badgers’ second commitment of the day — and the second from in state. Earlier on Monday, linebacker CJ Goetz announced he had committed to the Badgers.
247 Sports had Wisconsin as the huge favorite to land Dietzen’s commitment — the Badgers were at 91 percent. He is now the Badgers’ fifth commitment for 2018. Wisconsin, which won the Big Ten West and the Cotton Bowl this past season, is currently ranked No. 20 in the country for the 2018 class.
