Wisconsin running back Corey Clement hopes coach Paul Chryst will “solidify” the quarterback role soon, he told 247 Sports.
The No. 11 Badgers, who beat No. 7 Nebraska in overtime Saturday, have been sharing snaps between senior Bart Houston and freshman Alex Hornibrook.
“I think we need to solidify that role as the season goes on, hopefully next game,” Clement said. “We just don’t want any distractions. We try not to make it a big deal of who’s playing.
“If it doesn’t become a distraction to us, it won’t bother us.”
According to 247 Sports, Clement complimented Chryst’s for “giving everyone a piece of the pie.” Asked what the Badgers were hoping to accomplish by alternating quarterbacks so late in the season, Clement reportedly said, “That’s a hard question.”
Wisconsin is 6-2 and tied for second in the Big Ten West.
