MADISON, Wis. — Wisconsin went down one spot in the AP Top 25 poll, which was released Sunday, coming in at No. 10.
Wisconsin defeated Florida Atlantic 31-14 on Saturday, rolled up 564 yards of total offense and pitched a second half shutout defensively. But the Badgers also squandered several opportunities to put the game away and led by just 10 points at halftime. It marks the second consecutive week in which Wisconsin found itself in a closer-than-expected first half at Camp Randall Stadium.
Wisconsin will now face its first road test of the season before a bye week and the start of Big Ten play.
Previous rankings (AP/Amway Coaches Poll): 9/11
New rankings (AP/Amway Coaches Poll): 10/12
What it means: As long as Wisconsin continues to win, the Badgers’ dream of a College Football Playoff berth down the road remains possible. Wisconsin hasn’t played its best yet, but few teams have this early in the season.
What’s next: Wisconsin (2-0) travels to BYU (1-2) on Saturday. Kickoff is 2:30 p.m. CT.
