Franklin, a 6-foot-4 prospect with a 3-star rating in the 247Sports composite, recently completed an overnight visit to Wisconsin from June 8-9. He told Land of 10 that the opportunity to play tight end in college had a unique appeal.
Michigan State and Northwestern, the other schools in Franklin’s top 10, recruited him as an athlete who would likely end up at outside linebacker. He had additional Big Ten offers from Indiana and Purdue and ranks as the No. 57 athlete in the nation.
Franklin planned a Notre Dame visit for June 17 but that never came to fruition as the Irish did not offer.
Wisconsin now has 12 commitments in its 2018 class, which ranks seventh in the Big Ten. Franklin’s highlights are below.
