Earlier this month, Penn State announced plans to honor former coach Joe Paterno during this Saturday’s game against Temple at Beaver Stadium.
On Thursday, Penn State Athletic Director Sandy Barbour, released a statement with more information on the specifics of the ceremony.
The game marks the 50th anniversary of Paterno’s first game as the Nittany Lions’ coach. The school will have co-captains from the 1966 team, Mike Irwin and John Runnells, participate in the coin toss, and “further in-game introductions of players will take place.”
