Adding a 3-star dual-threat quarterback to a team’s recruiting class can only be seen as a win.

Wise of Newark, N.J., is a 6-foot-2 signal caller. Wise took an unofficial visit to Rutgers on Sept. 16 and apparently liked the visit enough to give a verbal commitment two weeks later.
The 247Sports Crystal Ball predictions had Wise choosing Miami, giving him a 100 percent chance of joining the Hurricanes.
Wise is Rutgers’ first commit of the 2019 class, giving the Scarlet Knights an early No. 6-ranked class in the Big Ten. Nine Big Ten teams have received verbal commitments from at least one player in the 2019 class.
