Greg Jones won’t play football again after injuring his neck last week against Ohio State, Rutgers coach Chris Ash said Saturday. Jones is physically recovered, though.
“Jones is fully recovered and it is recommended he not play football at this time,” the release said.
The fifth-year senior linebacker left Ohio Stadium in an ambulance last week against the Buckeyes.
Jones tweeted several hours later that he was “going to be fine.”
Jones, who transferred from East Stroudsburg University before the 2015 season, made 20 tackles and one sack in five games this season.
