Rutgers was on the verge of tying the game in the third quarter against Minnesota, and then the Scarlet Knights reminded everyone why they’ve lost their last three games by a combined score of 160-7.
After making the game 24-23 when Damon Hayes picked off a Mitch Leidner pass and took it to the end zone. Things were looking good for the Scarlet Knights, who trailed by 11 at halftime.
But on the next play, kicker David Bonagura missed the extra point.
Still, Rutgers had momentum and was just a point down.
