With Rutgers on to its 11th quarter of play without scoring a single point, the Scarlet Knights went to a new quarterback. Giovanni Rescigno started the second half for Rutgers, only his second time playing in three years with the program.
In Rescigno’s only other play this season, he ran for 42 yards vs. Howard. In his first drive on Saturday he had one incomplete pass, a sac for six yards in which he fumbled, and then his first-career completion — a three-yard loss. On his second drive, he picked up two first downs.
