Scarlet Knights coach Steve Pikiell is entering his third season at Rutgers. In his first year, Pikiell’s team went 15-18. Then, in 2017-18, he led Rutgers to a 15-19 record. In order for Pikiell to put a winning season together, Omoruyi and Doorson will have to deliver.
Last season, Omoruyi — a 6-foot-7 forward — averaged 7.9 points and 5 rebounds per game. He will be a junior this upcoming season.
For Doorson, the 7-foot center averaged just 1.8 points and 2.9 rebounds per contest last season, but appeared in 30 games. Doorson will be a senior in 2018-19.
