The country’s 15th-ranked linebacker, Fogg is the second-highest ranked commitment for Ash and Rutgers. The New Jersey native chose the Scarlet Knights from 26 scholarship offers, including Clemson, Michigan State, Stanford, California, North Carolina, Maryland and more.
Rutgers has been recruiting Fogg for over a year. He was a top target for Kyle Flood’s staff and that didn’t change when Ash took over. He told NJ.com’s Todderick Hunt last July what he liked about Rutgers.
“I actually like Rutgers because I’m originally from Asbury Park, New Jersey, which is my home town,” Fogg told NJ.com. “And it’s only like 35-45 minutes away from there. So I come down here every other week. So if I were to come down here, I could actually zoom right down to Rutgers. It would be a cool experience.”
With the commitment from Fogg, Rutgers has jumped ahead of Michigan State and now has the Big Ten’s fourth-ranked recruiting class according to 247Sports.com.
He is the 15th verbal for the Scarlet Knights and the second 4-star prospect to commit to Ash this cycle. Rutgers did not have a 4-star commitment in the 2016 class.
