Rutgers alum and San Francisco 49ers offensive lineman Anthony Davis retired from the NFL, the team announced Monday. Davis retired in June 2015 and returned to the 49ers this summer for training camp, where he attempted to move from right tackle to right guard.

He suffered a concussion in practice earlier in September and didn’t play in San Francisco’s last two games. Davis was drafted 11th overall in the 2010 NFL Draft by San Francisco. He appeared in 72 games in his career.
