Chris Laviano is heading to the West Coast.
The former starting Rutgers quarterback will transfer to San Diego State and be immediately eligible in 2017 as a graduate transfer, according to NJ.com. A Rutgers Barstool Sports account first reported the news.
Laviano was the Scarlet Knights’ starter during the 2015 season and the beginning of the 2016 campaign. He threw for 2,247 yards, 16 touchdowns and 12 interceptions during 12 games in the 2015 season. However, he struggled this past year, throwing for 748 yards and a 48.3 completion percentage in seven appearances.
Laviano will be joining a San Diego State team coming off an 11-3 campaign which resulted in the No. 25 ranking in the final AP poll of the 2016 season.
