Four Purdue football players have been accused of sexual assault, the Lafayette Journal & Courier’s Joseph Paul reports.
As reported by Paul, two Purdue University students have accused the players of sexual assault. The alleged assault occurred Oct. 13 at an off-campus location.
Paul reports that the accusations became public on Wednesday in a release from Massillamany & Jeter LLP, which is representing the students.
Alexandra Kruczek of WLFI in West Lafayette, Ind., reports the players also have been accused of giving alcohol to minors. Kruczek reports Purdue has suspended the players from the football team, but have been allowed be on campus so they can attend classes.
In a release included in Paul’s story, attorney Mario Massillamany said Purdue should expel the players.
“School officials must move quickly to hold these players accountable for their actions and show these victims that their voices are being heard,” he said.
Purdue has not publicly commented.
