Purdue’s homecoming game against Iowa will have an Olympic flair.
Three Boilermakers who won medals at the 2016 Summer Olympics – Amanda Elmore, David Boudia and Steele Johnson – will be honored at Ross-Ade Stadium on Saturday.
Elmore is a gold medalist, winning it with the United States’ women’s eight rowing team. Boudia and Johnson, meanwhile, teamed up to win a silver medal in the synchronized 10-meter dive.
Boudia, who won gold in the 2012 games, additionally won an individual bronze medal in the 10-meter dive in Rio.
Johnson, the only one of the trio who has not yet graduated, won the medal in his Olympic debut. His brother, Race, is a junior cornerback for the Boilermakers.
