Patterson, a 6-foot-3, 340-pound sophomore from Columbus, Ohio, did not play last week in Purdue’s win over Nevada and coach Darrell Hazell told reporters afterward that Patterson was dealing with a “personal” issue.
In a statement made to the Journal & Courier, a Purdue spokesperson said: “Purdue head football coach Darrell Hazell is aware of the incident involving Martesse Patterson. Hazell respects that there is a legal process that he will allow to evolve before further commenting.”
