Purdue football landed its first quarterback for the Class of 2019 on Tuesday.
That’s when pro-style quarterback Paul Piferi, a 3-star prospect according to 247Sports, committed to the Boilermakers via Twitter.
So excited to announce that I will continue my education and football at Purdue University! Thank you to the coaches from all of the colleges that recruited me through this process. 🚂 🔨 #boilerup #hammerdown #brohmsquad #purduefootball pic.twitter.com/HMJwExYBK4

Piferi, a 6-foot-5, 210-pound prospect from Villa Park, Calif., is ranked as the No. 32 pro-style quarterback in the country for 2019. He chose Purdue over more than a dozen Division I programs and spurned offers from several Ivy League schools.
Purdue’s 2019 class now has seven commitments, with Piferi joining 4-star commits George Karlaftis and Marvin Grant as well as Mershawn Rice, Da’Joun Hewitt, Cam Craig and Chase Triplett. The Boilermakers are currently 10th in the Big Ten and 37th nationally in the team recruiting rankings.
