Purdue football coach Jeff Brohm spoke after his team’s spring practice on Friday and talked about depth and more.
He first touched upon the younger players, saying everyone’s working hard and that they’ve made good progress.
“I think they enjoy competing,” he said. “We’ve got a lot of young guys out there needing work and I think we’re definitely giving those guys opportunities. We’re giving a lot of younger guys that haven’t seen the field opportunities to go out there and see what they can do.”
He then touched more on depth and needing younger players to be ready.
“In order to build a great team, you’ve got to get not only get your main guys ready, but you’ve got to get your young guys ready so when injuries happen or or people graduate, you’re able to continue the success and continue competing to win on a daily basis,” he said.”
Lastly, he was asked about his offensive line and said the unit is getting a lot of repetitions but still needs to get better.
“We need to push ourselves to find a way to feel comfortable with guys that are confident when we take the field,” said Brohm. “Are we there yet? We sure aren’t but I do like we have some guys that are willing, they’re working hard, they are improving but we’ve still got a ways to go.”
