When Purdue takes on Missouri on Saturday, it’ll be somewhat of a family feud for the Sparks family. Specifically, for brothers Adam and Jared Sparks.
Adam plays for the Tigers as a freshman defensive back, while Jared is a redshirt freshman quarterback for the Boilermakers.

The Sparks’ brotherly rivalry has existed since the two were young, and both received offers from Purdue. Jared took the Boilermakers’ scholarship offer, while Adam chose Missouri over Purdue and SEC schools Vanderbilt and Ole Miss.
So far this season, Adam has played in both of Missouri’s games. He recorded a tackle against Missouri State. Jared has yet to appear in a game for Purdue this season.
The Sparks family also is set for the occasion. Adam said more than 20 family members will be in attendance.
“I’m really excited to see my family,” Adam told mutigers.com. “They’re not going to pick a side. They got a shirt made with both teams on it. It’s crazy. With both of us going Division I, and playing in Power 5 conferences, they’re all happy. They’re all on cloud nine, especially coming to this game.”
The game will be televised on SEC Network. However, that isn’t changing how Adam feels about the game.
“It’s going to be fun, but we’re going to treat it like any other game,” Adam told mutigers.com. “We’ll go 100 percent. We aren’t going to allow another person to change the way we play or prepare. He’s my brother, but it’s just another team. At the end of the day, it’s going to be the same game, and we’re going to ball.”
Currently, Jared is listed as the No. 3 quarterback on Purdue’s depth chart, behind starter David Blough and backup Elijah Sindela.
Purdue and Missouri kick off at 3 p.m. CT on Faurot Field.
