Purdue quarterback Elijah Sindelar seemingly took a knee to run out the first half of the Foster Farms Bowl against Arizona on Wednesday night.
But he didn’t.
The Boilermaker quarterback handed off to 5-foot-7 running back D.J. Knox, who was hiding behind the line and went 41 yards for a huge gain, setting up a field goal to give his team a 31-14 lead at halftime.
Here’s the clip courtesy of Kevin McGuire.
The Wildcats defense is totally caught by surprise as Sindelar drew the line one way while Knox took off the other way.

This also isn’t the first time a team with Jeff Brohm as a coach ran a fake kneel play, as Western Kentucky did it when he was an assistant.
