Eastern was a role player for the Boilermakers last season, recording averages of 2.9 points per game and 2.5 rebounds per game. Perhaps his most impressive performance came March 4., when he scored 11 points and corralled 6 rebounds in a 75-66 loss to Michigan.
In declaring for the draft, Eastern will be allowed to workout for teams and participate in the NBA combine, if he is invited. From there, he’ll have until May 30 to decide to keep his name in the draft pool or return to Purdue.
Eastern played in all 37 games for the Boilermakers last season, but was hardly a key player on a team that went 30-7 and reached the Sweet 16.
