With the win, the No. 2-seeded Boilermakers will advance to the Sweet 16 for the second straight season in the NCAA Tournament, where they will take on Texas Tech on Friday.
Texas Tech — who are a No. 3 seed — defeated Florida, 69-66, in a thriller on Saturday night to punch its ticket to the Sweet 16.
The winner between Purdue and Texas Tech will advance to the Elite 8 and will play either Villanova, Marshall or West Virginia. Villanova punched its ticket the the Sweet 16 by defeating Alabama on Saturday. Marshall and West Virginia face off on Sunday night.
In the first round of the tournament, the Red Raiders defeated SF Austin, 70-60, while the Boilermakers defeated Cal State Fullerton, 74-48.
Last season, Purdue was eliminated in the Sweet 16 by Kansas. Texas Tech did not make the NCAA Tournament last season.
