Jeff Brohm is going to keep opposing defenses on their toes when the Boilermakers have the ball — even in a spring game.
During Purdue’s spring scrimmage Saturday, Brohm called a pair of trick plays on the opening drive. The Boilermakers ran a fake reverse on the first play of the afternoon and followed it up with a successful hook-and-ladder a few snaps later.

Brohm, entering his second season at Purdue, is known for digging into his bag of tricks. Some unconventional plays worked for Purdue last season in the team’s Foster Farms Bowl win over Arizona, including a fake kneel down.
