Not all Purdue transfers harbor a dislike for their former school.
Current-LSU quarterback, and former Boilermaker, Danny Etling opened up to the Daily Advertiser, Lafayette, La., about his transfer from West Lafayette to Baton Route.
Etling, who, since the start of the season, has claimed the starting quarterback job from the incumbent Brandon Harris, talked about his transfer from Purdue and what made it hard to leave. However, what was most notable from the interview was how different it was from the comments of former Purdue quarterback Austin Appleby, who took shots at Purdue’s coaching staff in an interview from over the weekend.

Etling talked about how difficult it was to transfer from Purdue, but also how starting with the Boilermakers made him a better player, noting the relationship he had with his coaches.
“I had a good relationship with my coaches,” Etling said to the Advertiser. “When I finally decided to leave, I had to move on from it. I still have good friends there.”
Etling and Appleby, who both began on the began on the bench for their respective teams, now find themselves starting for their current teams. Etling, as noted before, took over for Harris, but Appleby has since taken over as the Gators’ starting quarterback due to the injury of starter Luke Del Rio.
While its obvious Etling left on better terms than Appleby did, the severe contrast in their comments are interesting to say the least.
