Bo Pelini and the Big Ten seem like a great match.
Pelini was successful at Nebraska, hails from the Midwest, played at Ohio State and pretty much every Big Ten fan misses his fake Twitter account.
So could Pelini be back on a Big Ten sideline soon? According to 247 Sports, Pelini would have interest in the Purdue job, which became vacant Sunday with the firing of Darrell Hazell.
From the 247 report:
“He would definitely be interested in this job,” a source who coached under Pelini told 247Sports this week. “I think he would make a more immediate impact more than any other guy I believe. He would change that culture real quick.”
Pelini is currently the head coach at Youngstown State, where the Penguins are 5-1 so far in his second season. He went 67-27 in seven seasons at Nebraska and was fired following the end of the 2014 regular season.
Lots of potential names are swirling around the Purdue job, the second Power 5 vacancy already this season. If Pelini does wind up at Purdue, he would face the Huskers once a year in the Big Ten West.
