The latest betting odds have been released for each of the Big Ten games for Week 10 and only two of the seven conference games is the home team favored.
Luckily for Purdue, the Boilermakers are at home against Illinois and are one of those two home favorites. The Boilermakers are favored to beat the Fighting Illini by 12 1/2 points in the noon ET game on Saturday, being held at Ross-Ade Stadium in West Lafayette.
The Boilermakers are actually the second-biggest favorite within the Big Ten for Week 10, behind only Michigan’s 14 1/2-point line as the Wolverines are at home against Minnesota.
Purdue enters the Saturday game at 3-5 overall, and just 1-4 in Big Ten play. The Boilermakers are losers of its last three games, including a 2-point road loss to Rutgers.
As for Illinois, the Fighting Illini are 2-6 on the season, but are the only winless team in the Big Ten (0-5).
Both teams are in the Big Ten West division and while the Fighting Illini are in last place, the Boilermakers are in fifth, ahead of both Illinois and Minnesota — the only Big Ten team the Boilermakers have beaten.
After starting the season with a 7-point loss to Louisville, Purdue won two straight games before losing four of its next five games. Illinois got a hotter start to the season by winning its first two, but have since lost its last six by a combined score of 203-96 — an average of 33-16.
The Purdue-Illinois game will be televised on BTN.
