Purdue hasn’t played in a bowl game since the 2012 season. But first-year head coach Jeff Brohm has the Boilermakers on a quick trajectory upward.
At 3-3 overall (1-2 Big Ten), Purdue is more than alive in the hunt for a .500 record and a bowl game. One more win this season would give the program the most it has had in a year since going 6-7 in 2012 — that last bowl season.
Though the Boilermakers lost on Saturday, it was only 17-9 to top-10 Wisconsin on the road. So Purdue hasn’t lost much national support when it comes to bowl projections.
Here is a roundup of where Purdue could head this postseason:
ESPN (Kyle Bonagura and David M. Hale): TaxSlayer Bowl vs. Texas A&M/Foster Farms Bowl vs. California
CBS Sports (Jerry Palm): Outback Bowl vs. LSU
Purdue next plays at Rutgers on Saturday, Oct. 21.
