After an official weekend visit, 2017 small forward Aaron Wheeler verbally committed to Purdue according to GoldandBlack.com.
Wheeler, a 6-foot-8, 200-pound 3-star recruit from Stamford, Conn., was ranked as the No. 1 recruit in Connecticut and the No. 48 small forward in the country.

He also had offers from Creighton, Northwester and Providence, among others.
Wheeler also tweeted his commitment on Monday morning.

Later, Purdue chimed in, but did not mention Wheeler.

The Boilermakers went 26-9 in 2015-16, making the NCAA Tournament in the process. They currently have five forwards on the roster for the 2016-17 season.
