Tolu Jacobs Yaffa commits to Penn State basketball: 2018 big man pledges to Nittany Lions

Penn State basketball added a commit to its 2018 class on Friday when big man Tolu Jacobs Yaffa made a pledge to Penn State.

A 6-foot-11 center, Jacobs Yaffa is ranked as a 3-star recruit and the No. 39 center in his class, according to the 247Sports composite rankings. He also had offers from Butler, Stanford, San Diego State and others.

Jacobs Yaffa plays at Kingman Academy in Arizona, and he is the third member of Penn State’s 2018 recruiting class. Pat Chambers’ program also has verbal commitments from 3-star guards Rasir Bolton and Myles Dread. The class is currently ranked 45th in the country and 10th in the Big Ten by 247Sports.

Penn State went 15-18 (6-12 Big Ten) last season and returns most of its key players for the 2017-18 campaign. The Nittany Lions start this season on Nov. 10 at home against Campbell.
