Penn State basketball has a new career 3-point leader.
In the first half of the 2018 NIT semifinals, senior guard Shep Garner tied Pete Lisicky’s school record. In the second half, Garner then passed it, splashing his first shot of the second half for his 333rd triple and his fifth of the night.
At the time, he was five-of-seven from beyond the arc with 15 points. He then splashed another to make it 18 points.

The real work came during a first half in which Garner hit four including three in a 24-0 run by the Lions to grab a big lead going into halftime.
Here’s what Lisicky had to say before Garner set the record. He was clearly hearing footsteps.
