Former Penn State wide receiver commit Shaquon Anderson-Butts announced Saturday he’ll spend a post-graduate year at Milford Academy (a prep school in New York) while keeping his college recruitment open for the 2019 cycle. Anderson-Butts had previously planned to go the junior college route.
Anderson-Butts was a longtime Penn State commit, but he did not send in his letter of intent in either signing period. Instead, Anderson-Butts said he’ll pick a school sometime in the next year and enroll in January 2019.
“I will be attending Milford academy for a post graduate year where my recruitment will be open to any school and I’ll pick the school of my choice and enroll in January,” Anderson-Butts tweeted.

A teammate of Penn State signee Micah Parsons at Harrisburg (Pa.) High School, Anderson-Butts was rated as a 3-star commit in the 247Sports composite rankings. He had more than two dozen offers, including ones from Florida, Maryland, Michigan State and Arizona.
