With the 2017 NFL Combine going on this weekend, most eyes are on this year’s batch of top collegiate football talent.
However, Saquon Barkley’s name still managed to pop up, and some evaluators are expecting the Penn State running back to be a top 5 pick in the 2018 NFL Draft:
This, according to FOX Sports reporter Bruce Feldman:
Heard from several folks this wk at the Combine who expect #PennState RB Saquon Barkley to be a Top 5 overall pick in the 2018 NFL draft.

Barkley is one of the favorites to win the 2018 Heisman Trophy, so it’s no surprise that he’s already being considered a Top 5 talent for a draft that’s more than a year away.
At this point the only thing likely to slow him down is an injury.
During his sophomore campaign with the Nittany Lions last season, Barkley rushed for 1,496 yards and 18 touchdowns on 272 carries. Additionally, he caught 28 passes out of the backfield for 402 receiving yards (14.4 yards per catch) and four touchdowns through the air.
