Michael Robinson returned to his old stomping grounds to catch up with another one of Penn State football’s greatest offensive stars in recent memory. Robinson interviewed Saquon Barkley this spring as part of NFL.com’s “Back 2 Campus” series.
Robinson and Barkley discussed the changes in Penn State’s facilities in the last 15 years, how they’re both recognized in the Nittany Lions’ football building, Barkley’s potential future as a broadcaster and more.

Robinson was the star quarterback for Penn State during the team’s 2005 season. Robinson threw for 2,350 yards and ran for 806, leading the Nittany Lions to Big Ten and Orange Bowl titles.
Robinson was the 2005 Big Ten Offensive Player of the Year, and no Penn State player won the award again until Barkley in 2016.
“You kind of drove me, because I’m reading we haven’t had an [Big Ten] offensive player of the year since 2005. Who’s the last player to do that? I was chasing you, man,” the former Penn State star running back told Robinson.
Robinson, now a broadcaster with the NFL Network, was in the NFL from 2006 until 2013 as a fullback. Barkley will likely be a top-five pick in the 2018 NFL Draft.
