Penn State is reportedly adding to its staff from a Big Ten East neighbor.
The Nittany Lions are adding Phil Galiano to their staff, according to Bruce Feldman of Fox Sports. Galiano has spent the last two seasons as the special teams coordinator/tight ends coach at Rutgers, where he’s also served as recruiting coordinator. Galiano has NFL experience and was an assistant with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers from 2012-2014.

Galiano will be a geographic fit with Penn State. He grew up near Philadelphia in Norristown — not far from James Franklin’s hometown of Langhorne. He played college football at Division II Shippensburg in Pennsylvania before getting his coaching career started at Rutgers in 2003.
